We can't stop talking about Colin Kaepernick and his controversial decision to sit / kneel during the National Anthem. To no surprise, the opinions being published are polarized, like everything else, along political and ideological lines. FoxNews leads the way on negativity while the New York Times and Vox.com give a more positive spin. (see below)
On the one hand, sentiment analysis is only telling us what we kind of already knew. So what's the point? On the other hand seeing is believing. Sometimes it's easy to dismiss something we don't want to be true. I'm reasonable, I'm not divisive, my bubble isn't a bubble. But faced with proof of how consistently we divide ourselves into for vs against or right vs left may help us break the pattern.
