Americans Don't Trust Either Trump Or Clinton With Nuclear Weapons

Americans don’t really trust either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton to handle the nation’s nuclear weapons, but they’re especially leery of the GOP nominee, a new HuffPost/YouGov survey finds.

Just 27 percent of Americans say they trust Trump to make the right decisions about the use of nuclear weapons, while 57 percent don’t.

The poll was taken after MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said last week that Trump had repeatedly asked a foreign policy expert why the U.S. couldn’t use its nuclear weapons. The story, which the Trump campaign denied, set off a wave of alarm about giving the real estate mogul final say over the nation’s military capabilities.
